Equal Play is a nonprofit organization dedicated to collecting and distributing used sports equipment to underprivileged youth in Baltimore's underserved communities.
Sports teach resilience, teamwork, leadership, and self-discipline. But the high cost of club sports often excludes talented kids who could benefit most from these life lessons.
We're changing that by giving more youth the chance to play, compete, and thrive.
What Do We Do?
Equal Play partners with local sports clubs in order to utilize their networks and locations to collect donated sports equipment. Equal Play identified our partners because they have a community of local athletes who are likely to have used sports equipment, who share an understanding of the benefits of sports programs and an understanding of their costs, which encourages them to donate.
Our partners also benefit from Equal Play by providing equipment donation services to their communities. They can also be benefactors of collected equipment to empower their underprivileged athletes to continue participating in their programs.

A student athlete dedicated to making sports accessible for all youth in Baltimore
Growing up in Baltimore City and attending Loyola Blakefield since middle school, I've been shaped by the Jesuit principle of being a "Man for Others." That mindset, combined with my lifelong love of sports, inspired me to found Equal Play, a nonprofit dedicated to collecting and distributing used sports equipment to underprivileged youth in Baltimore's underserved communities.
For 12 years I've played soccer at a national level. Soccer has taught me resilience, teamwork, leadership, and self-discipline. But I've also seen how the high cost of club sports can exclude talented kids. I founded Equal Play to help change that by giving more youth the chance to benefit from the lessons and opportunities that soccer gave me.
Starting Equal Play has also supported my interest in business. From drafting a mission statement to building partnerships and organizing logistics, I've developed skills that directly support my plans to major in Business. I look forward to deepening my business knowledge while continuing to serve the community through Equal Play while attending college.
We're hosting two equipment collection drives where you can donate your gently used sports equipment. Every donation helps a young athlete continue playing the sport they love.
We've partnered with ABC Park Seminoles Sports Agency to ensure collected equipment reaches youth who need it most in Baltimore's underserved communities.
